If you are looking for the ultimate Kenai River fishing and lodging experience you’ve come to the right place! The Kenai Riverside Resort is situated on the bank of the Kenai River just a couple of miles above the Soldotna bridge. The bridge marks the beginning of the lower Kenai River. The resort was inspired by the idea of providing a true Alaska wilderness experience on the banks of the Kenai River. You’ll feel right at home in our heated canvas cabins while you relax, recharge, and adventure in Alaska’s great outdoors.

Day trips on the peninsula are easy from our central peninsula location. This avoids the need to pack and unpack multiple times if your trip involves other South Central Alaska destinations – which it usually does. Our location is one of the best base camps you could ask for.

We are very happy to help you with all of your adventure needs and happy to help fulfill any special requests. If you have any adventures you’re having trouble putting together please let us know.

It would take weeks to actually do all the different fishing and adventure activities. This is one of the reasons we love the Alaskan summer. Let us help you select the best adventures and packages to best suit your goals. Make sure to check out all our adventure options.

Alaska salmon fishing is clearly a very popular activity. However, we offer more than just fishing in case you are more interested in wildlife viewing, nature, and hiking.

We have a nightly social hour, often with live local music, overlooking the river and accompanied by great food.

Kenai Riverside Resort

A One-Of-A-Kind Experience

We’ve been fishing these waters and adventuring throughout Alaska since growing up here as kids. We’ve helped people from all over the world put together the best vacations possible. We promote conservation on the river and throughout our state and truly enjoy sharing this amazing natural beauty. You’ll find our guides knowledgeable, friendly, patient, and hard-working. We don’t just focus on the Kenai River but have knowledgeable experience with all the fishing in our surrounding waters as well as our fly-in trips for fishing and wildlife viewing.

We also use top-quality gear selected specifically for each type of adventure. More specifically, this includes our riverboats, specialized rods & reels for each species, waders & boots, and more.

We manage a modest onsite tackle and equipment shop to take care of any last-minute items that may have been forgotten. On our fishing bank, you’ll always find rods, reels, and tackle rigged and ready for you. Please consider checking out our what to bring section found in our trip planning information

Great Accommodations And Location

We absolutely love our accommodations and we think you will too. Our canvas cabins were inspired by the idea of creating an incredibly unique experience. We wanted to leave the land as natural as possible while providing a luxury stay. Each canvas cabin has comfortable beds, high thread count sheets and comforters, wifi, electricity, forced air heating, and more.

Our resort is nestled among the natural surroundings of Alaska where spatial and social distancing are a breeze. You’ll find us located a 10-minute drive from the heart of Soldotna. This is a riverfront fishing experience with over 400 ft. of private riverfront. The salmon run will literally be just steps away from your cabin. This river, the nearby Kasilof, and the surrounding salt-waters offer some of the best fishing anywhere in the world.

Our Gear

Kenai Riverside Resort rods
Luhr-Jensen Kwikfish lures for king salmon, silver salmon, and steelhead
Luhr-Jensen Kwikfish are a very popular lure for Kenai River king salmon and silver salmon fishing

We use specialized or customized gear for our river and Alaska salmon and trout fishing trips. Our preferred rods are Lamiglass X11 for king salmon fishing and silver salmon fishing. We use custom-built Okuma Kenai River sockeye rods for sockeye fishing, and prefer Okuma bait-casting and fly fishing reels.

We use Luhr-Jensen Kwikfish wrapped with sardine for targeting king salmon and silver salmon. We’ll also use Worden’s Spin-n-glo’s. All held securely by 80# Power Pro Spectra braided fishing line.
